One way to increase goal success by 95%

Good morning! It’s Sunday, September 28. Welcome to One Minute Weekend.

Discipline gets way too much credit when it comes to achieving a goal.

We think we need to be these ruthless machines with dialled in routines and never-ending willpower.

When there is something 65-95% more powerful:

Accountability

Stephen Covey who wrote the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People once said, “accountability breeds response-ability” and he’s right.

According to research from the American Society of Training and Development, people who simply decide on a goal have about 10% chance of achieving it.

If they consciously commit to that goal, the likelihood jumps to 25%.

Add a timeline and you’re at about 40%

But here’s where things get wild:

Telling someone else about your goal increases the chances to 65%

And if you go one step further and create a plan with a specific accountability partner, your chances skyrocket to 95%.

Think about that.

It means the difference between keeping your dream locked in your head and actually living it could be as simple as looping someone you trust into the mix.

Not another time management app, not another AI planning tool, not superhuman discipline or willpower.

Just someone you can share your ideas with who will respond back to you by saying “did you do what you said you’d do?”.

That’s it. It’s insanely simple.

And yet, most of us still try to white-knuckle it alone.

We stack up routines, hacks and apps, then wonder why we keep slipping.

We forget we’re social creatures.

We’re wired to rise when someone else is counting on us.

That’s why accountability feels like steroids compared to discipline.

Because it’s not about willpower or discipline. It never was.

It’s about connection.

If you’re tired of lone wolfing it, here’s an idea: find your person.

A friend, a coach, a community.

Someone who reminds you that you’re not f***king nuts because you want to achieve something big.

Someone who checks in to see if you followed through.

If you don’t have someone like this in your life, I’m building a club of misfits like me who are starving for this type of accountability.

It’s a small (free) WhatsApp group for people who are done brute forcing their way to gaol achievement and actually want to bring their goals, creations and desires to life over the next 12 months.

Because if 1 accountability partner can boost your chances by 95%, imagine what happens when you’ve got 4 or 5 people in your corner.

If you want in, email me

Much Love,
